The Flixisis

Many people say trees grow because of water and soil — that’s a lie. Did you know we live amongst trolls and tooth fairies? Did you know that we also live amongst flixisis? They are people living with us, but we cannot see or touch them. We can only see their work.

Flixisis are tall like us but have very special powers. They can just snap their fingers, and plants and trees grow immediately. Flixisis have long, pointy ears and capes attached to their bodies that allow them to fly.

Once upon a time, people and flixisis lived together happily in their own village. But after some time, a man named Khila became very jealous of the flixisis. He was a very powerful man. He conspired, and a war began between humans and the flixisis. He made the next generation believe that trees grow as a result of the soil and water, but that was a lie.

The flixisis had no choice but to flee the land and become invisible, growing trees in the night to help Mother Nature and humans.

One day, a beautiful flixisis named Amill was born. She was unique nd had very long hair. What was strange was that she had blue eyes but every other flixisis had brown eyes.

One day, Amill was doing her daily routine of growing trees when she accidentally touched a human hand and dragged a little girl through the flixisis magical hole. Amill was so curious about humans. She did not tell anyone about the human she dragged in, not even her mother nor the eldest flixisis.

Amill eventually told her friends— Mishell, Kendy and Michel — about the human in the cave. Mishell came up with an idea — if they asked the oldest flixisis, Vick, about the human, maybe they could find out more information.

Amill thought that would just be a waste of flixisis Vick’s time, so she set aside a day for her and her friends to explore more about humans.

They went to a cave without telling anyone. Kendy pushed the rock covering the cave-opening, away. They found a book that had the information they were looking for: The History and Powers of the Flixisis. Amill touched the book and started seeing visions of a man with blue eyes like hers. She realised that the human that had been pulled into the flixisis magical hole was named Filly. She had the same eyes as that of the man in her vision. At that time, she realised that there was something about her blue eyes.

Amill was anxious. She went to the magical hole and grabbed Filly out. She asked, “Does everyone in your world have blue eyes?” Filly just stared at Amill, amazed. She had never seen a person with big pointy ears, wearing flowers before. Filly ran away and hid amongst some big flowers.

In the morning, Amill realised that she really needed to tell Vick what had happened. She did not tell any of her friends. She wanted to know more and take responsibility for her actions.

Amill waited for Vick to attend to her, while waiting she was shaking. She knew she had messed with non-flixisis history.

The oldest flixisis, Vick, asked, “What brought the most beautiful girl to my office?” Amill told Vick everything that had happened. Surprisingly, flixisis Vick was not shocked. That surprised Amill because she assumed she would be in trouble.

He showed her a picture of Akhila. Akhila had blue eyes just like her and the human she saw. Amill did not tell Vick about Filly; she only told him about the book and the man in her vision.

The next day, Amill asked her mother why she had blue eyes, but her mother did not tell her anything.

Instead, she said, “You are special, my little flower.” Suddenly Filly, the human, walked into Amill’s house. Amill’s eyes almost popped out, out of shock.

They all noticed Filly had blue eyes. Everyone was surprised because her eyes matched with Amill’s eyes. Filly was related to Akhila and was completing her family’s old mission to find the flixisis. She told them that she was looking for a flixisis woman named Amanda.

When Amill’s mom found out, she was scared. She realised her secret was out. Amill’s mother was Amanda. A long time ago, before the humans and the flixisis were separated, Amanda’s great grandmother had twins — a girl and a boy. They were both half human and half flixisis and that boy was named Akhila.

Filly told them that she wanted to prove that her family and the flixisis were living peacefully together and they could coexist in harmony. It was at that moment Amill’s mother told them about their beautiful history and powers. She told them about the war that made the flixisis leave the land.

Amill’s family was so happy to find their long-lost human family again. They took Filly in, and they promised to help unite the flixisis and humans.
